Top 10 Energy Efficient Office Buildings in Australia
In my trend of Big Data I have been busy getting into the Big(ish) Data of Mandatory Disclosure and the database of Building Energy Efficiency Certificates (BEECs). The database is extremely useful, it gives owner name, emissions intensity, star ratings and energy consumption. But it is unwieldy.
So we have taken the BEEC database and made it into an online tool that enables landlords and portfolio owners to compare their buildings to their competitors. For tenants and corporate real estate professionals to find and compare buildings they maybe considering. We have called it Ecotrinsic – a database of the intrinsic ecological value of office buildings, you can find it at http://www.ecotrinsic.com.au
Australia’s Top 10 Energy Efficient Office Buildings
According to the latest BEEC data the most energy efficient office building with a BEEC in Australia is 836 Wellington Street, West Perth WA owned by Investa Property Group.
So quite a mix of states, owners and building age.
Get in and have a look at the data, filter on office size, or location. What is the most energy efficient office building over 20,000m2 in NSW?
The database is based on the BEEC data from the Commercial Building Disclosure website, please be aware of the disclaimer associated data within the BEEC registry.

Nice work Simon, the CBD program was always supposed to be an information program, you’ve managed to turn their bunch of data into useful information
